Girls' XC Dominates at Madison Invite

Hilltoppers Win: 1 - 0
The girls' cross country team warmed up for the homecoming dance with the U Wanna Come Back Inv. at Madison on Saturday morning and romped to their 4th invitational win of the season. The girls, who were ranked 15th in the state coaches poll this week, were led by Denali Selent who successfully defended her championship from a year ago. Bri Nieset and Andi Mann placed 3rd and 4th, while Lilli Livengood and Molly Greene rounded out the scoring in 9th and 12th. The Toppers' 29 points easily outdistanced the 73 points by runner-up Edgewood. In the open race, Meghan Martin and Sophia Ku finished 1-2 to lead the way. in that race, all 7 Toppers ran either a season best time or a personal record.

Hilltoppers Win: 10 - 0
The Lady Hilltoppers sent a message to the doubters at the Centerville Saturday Night Lights meet over the weekend. Running in the marquee championship race, the Toppers placed 10th in the field of 28 teams. 21 of the 28 teams were ranked among the top 20 in their state/division. Among the teams behind the Toppers were Kentucky's #1, #2, and #3 ranked teams.
Of the 11 runners that made the trip, 7 came home with new personal records and the other 4 ran season best times. The rest of the ream ran in the Cardinal Invitational in the morning and they also came home with 5 new PRs and 2 season best efforts.

Hilltoppers Win: 1 - 0
The Lady Hilltoppers dominated Saturday's sloppy Walsh Invitational as they captured both the varsity and JV team championships.
In the JV race, freshmen Morgan Fisher, Mel Yoger, Cantrelle Williams, and Meghan Martin finished 1-2-3-4 to lead the way. Junior Sophia Ku finished 20th to seal the win, while Kara Connolly and Gabby Cross rounded out the outstanding team effort. The Toppers scored 30 points to easily outdistance Stow's 79 in the 15-team race.
The varsity squad was once again led by the terrific trio of Denali Selent, Andi Mann, and Bri Nieset who finished 1-2-3. Lilli Livengood placed 7th and Molly Greene placed 20th to cap the scoring. Lending support were Katie Snyder, Mila Stropkay and Maria Peters as the Toppers scored 33 points to best Aurora's 84 points in the 11-team D-I field.

Hilltoppers Win: 1 - 0
The girls' cross country team won their second invitational title in as many tries on Saturday at the 23-team Kenston Frank Gibas Inv. Denali Selent (3rd), Bri Nieset (8th), Andi Mann (9th), Lilli Livengood (19th), and Molly Greene (30th) combined for 69 points to easily outdistance Massillon Jackson and Beaumont with 86 and 89 points, respectively. Katie Snyder (35th), Maria Peters (41st), Mila Stropkay (43rd), Morgan Fisher (46th), and Mel Yoger (57th) closed out the varsity unit to give the Toppers ten runners among the top 57 finishers in the 198-runner race. Sophia Ku placed 3rd and Cantrelle Williams finished 20th to bring home individual awards in the 172-finisher open race.
Next up for the Hilltoppers is the Walsh Jesuit Invitational next Saturday.

Hilltoppers Win: 1 - 0
The Lady Hilltoppers captured the 11-team Hawken Invitational, outdistancing 2017 state qualifier Shaker Heights by a 41-48 margin. Hawken, the state's preseason #1 ranked team in D-II, finished 3rd with 79 points. Sophomores Andi Mann and Bri Nieset, senior Denali Selent, soph Lilli Livengood, and senior Molly Greene provided the scoring punch. Freshmen Katie Snyder, Melanie Yoger, and Morgan Fisher were close behind, giving the Toppers 8 runners among the top 26 finishers.
