With a 3rd place finish the Chardon Boys Cross Country team qualified to Regionals on Saturday.  Boardman won with 52 points. Twinsburg was 2nd with 71 points.  Chardon was 3rd with 78 points.  The 4th and final qualifier was Howland with 102 points.  This was arguably the toughest district meet in the state.  There were 16 district meets, yet 6 of the top 22 teams in the most recent coaches poll were in this one district.

Nick Elswick returned to action for the first time in 4 weeks.  With a conservative approach he finished 7th overall.  Adam Sopchak (Sr) had his best race of the year to finish in 9th place.  Josh Sopchak and Steven Zombory had strong efforts to place 11th and 18th.  Jacob Krebs was the 5th scorer for the Hilltoppers in 33rd.  Josh Metzung (Fr) was 43rd and Jimmy Uhland (Sr) was 58th to round out the Hilltopper team.

These 7 guys will represent the Hilltoppers next Saturday at Boardman High School for the Regional final.  They will need to finish as one of the top 4 teams to qualify to the State Championship the following week.
