Louisville wins with 72 points. Mentor and Chardon both had 80 points, but Mentor takes 2nd on the tie-breaker determined by the 6th man. This was a good early season test for the team and will serve to remind us how important every place can be. Nick Elswick won the individual title with an impressive 15:29.76, currently the fastest 5k CC time in the state. Josh Sopchak (7th; 16:40.83), Adam Sopchak (11th; 16:56.57), Steven Zombory (15th; 17:00.99) and Jacob Krebs (46th; 17:59.36) rounded out the top 5 scorers for the team.
In the JV race, the Chardon boys were led by Brandon O'Donnell (3rd; 17:55.86) to a 2nd place finish.
Next week the team travels to Tiffin Cross Country Carnival where more than 5000 athletes will compete in races throughout the day.
