The Lady Hilltoppers took advantage of the fast course and excellent competition in the championship race of the Saturday Night Lights meet in Centerville, placing 16th of 25 teams in a very competitive race, despite running without 2 of their top 5 runners. The girls faced a field featuring 9 D-I teams ranked among the state's top 20 and 4 teams ranked among the top 10 in either D-II or D-III, as well as two highly ranked teams from Kentucky and Michigan.
Denali Selent led the way with a PR time of 18:33 in 16th place, moving her to #4 on the CHS all-time list, one second behind Rachel Banks. Her time was the 14th best time in meet history for a junior. Behind her, the young Toppers were hitting on all cylinders with freshman Andi Mann (PR 19:53), soph Mila Stropkay (SB 20:29), freshman Lilli Livengood (PR 20:41), and senior Natalie Washington (PR 20:53) providing the scoring punch.
Senior exchange student Thea Sauer (PR 21:04), soph Cassidy Robinson (21:29), senior Kate Hornyak (PR 21:30), senior Jessica Krebs (SB 21:32), and soph Sophia Ku (PR 22:06) served notice that the Toppers are deep and talented.
